CrossFit Charlottesville Introduces Our Youth Training Program!

What is the Youth Training Program?

We have had great success with past Youth Training Programs and look forward to re-introducing this program at our new space!  Classes are geared toward children (ages 5+) of any athletic background – from exploratory to novice to student athlete – and focus on having fun while doing child-friendly exercises.

Raptors – (ages 5-10) Safety, discipline, and teamwork are emphasized while learning proper mechanics of bodyweight movements. Spatial awareness and coordination are developed through games and direct instruction, offering a fun and engaging experience for the development of mind and body.

T-Rexes – (ages 11+) In addition to safety, discipline, and teamwork, T-Rexes learn proper technique to develop fundamental weightlifting movements and participate in more complex movements and workouts. Great option for off-season training, building extra endurance, or simply trying something new.

Whether your child is looking to have an extra “recess” or seeks to improve his or her competitive sports performance, CrossFit Charlottesville’s Youth Training Programs are an excellent all-around fitness choice. Our primary goal is to help your children develop a lifelong passion for fitness through a variety of skills and movements in a safe and engaging learning environment.

What Can my Child Look Forward to?

Twice-weekly classes featuring:

  • “Skills of the Week”

  • Goal-setting

  • Education on proper movement

  • Fun classes and new friends

Who is the Trainer?

Jessalyn Fink will be leading the program, and comes to us with 3 years of CrossFit experience, as well as a background in classroom teaching and coaching. Her personal athletic background includes competitive gymnastics, dance, and swimming, the latter of which she has over 5 years experience coaching. She is enthusiastic, energetic, and looks forward to providing a fun, meaningful experience for each participant!

What is the Cost?

Raptors: The cost for this program is $149 for 3 Months or $59 for 1 month.  There is an additional discount if you sign up more than one child for either group.

T-Rexes: The cost for this class is $199 for 3 Months or $79 for 1 Month.  There is an additional discount if you sign up more than one child for either group.

When do Classes Meet?

Classes meet 2x per week, and run anywhere from 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the class and age group of the participants.  Below are the class times for each group:

Raptors: Tuesday 4:15 – 4:45PM, Thursday 4:15 – 4:45PM

T-Rexes: Tuesday 5 – 5:45PM, Thursday 5 – 5:45PM
