Wednesday Workout: Snatch and Wallballs

Snatch Skill Work

WOD

Three rounds for time of:

  • 30 Wallball shots, 20/14 pound ball (10.5 foot target)
  • 75/45 pound Squat snatches, 30 reps (movement initiates with barbell below the knees)

Scale to hang power snatch and lower reps if you aren’t proficient in the snatch. Compare to 8/26.

    sucked even with the light weights, legs a quivering mass of tired — I think it would even be hard with pvc and a tennis ball.

    cramped 2nd round of snatches and it got pretty bad by round 3. i did have 15 left to go at 17 minutes, so I will redo this one in a week.

  5. 20:02 did power snatches @ 75# and added 20 back squats to each set since I’m not squatchable.

  6. 12:51 (10# wb, 45# – 15 reps on the squatches)

  7. 17:02, 12#, 35#

  8. 19:39 Rx (w/ much better form than last time… I didn’t even fall down once)

    I had to scale the reps because I’ve only done 37# in regular squatch (love that word) skill work. This was a grind but I kinda liked it. Kudos to those who Rx’d this puppy!

    First time ever that my thumb/wrists/everything weren’t killing me during the overhead squats, so that alone feels like a major victory. šŸ™‚
