Part of a new series, so you can meet our trainers…
Years Doing CrossFit: 1.5
First WOD experience: a partner WOD involving lots of lunges, squats, and med-ball situps. I barely finished and couldn’t walk the rest of the day.
Favorite WOD: “Linda”! Except I’m sure I’ll change my mind the day I can do it rx.
Favorite Movement: Overhead Squat or Snatch
How many times have you thrown up doing CrossFit: zero and counting
If we had to name a workout after you, what would it include: Dancing. Lots and lots of dancing. And maybe hula hoops.
Favorite Thing About CrossFit: The community aspect.! Everyone is there to encourage you, fight through the pain with you, and say “that was fun” with you at the end of it all. No one is a stranger when you walk into a Crossfit box, no matter your level of fitness. I love that my parents can do it, too.
Least Favorite Thing About CrossFit: Any really long metcon that involves only one movement (example: 2k row or “Karen”)
Why did you decide to train clients at our gym: I wanted to be more involved in the process of helping my friends meet their fitness goals, whether that be losing body fat, getting their first pull-up, becoming more flexible, or setting personal records on major lifts.
Hobbies Outside of CrossFit: tennis, Argentine tango, salsa dancing, digging up really old objects that will one day be on display in a museum
Training Goals (short, medium, long): get my first muscle-up, keep my body fat steadily under 20%, continue to have fun at the gym
Professional Career Goals: professor of Classical Archaeology
What did you eat today?: eggs, lox, spinach, banana … dark chocolate…
Favorite Cheat Meal: dark chocolate is not a cheat meal it is a necessary part of life
One Thing You Could Change about yourself: My Daddy says I’m perfect the way I am.
Favorite Gym Experience: Way too many to choose just one. Most recent? Not at our gym but it’s still pretty awesome: my mom just got her very first strict pull-up!!!
