Strength

Work Up to a 1 Rep Max Overhead Squat

Complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes of:

  • 3 Barbell Thrusters
  • 3 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 6 Barbell Thrusters
  • 6 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 9 Barbell Thrusters
  • 9 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 12 Barbell Thrusters
  • 12 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 15 Barbell Thrusters
  • 15 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 18 Barbell Thrusters
  • 18 Chest to bar Pull-ups
  • 21 Barbell Thrusters
  • 21 Chest to bar Pull-ups…

This is a timed workout. If you complete the round of 21, go on to 24. If you complete 24, go on to 27, etc.

    1. Got to 98 on Sat. Nice to have my quads back.

  5. 4×5 25# kb goblet squats
    WOD: 90 reps, 15# bar, ring rows

    testing the hip, so far, so good.

  6. OHS – 155 x 2 reps (PR +29)

    WOD – 78 (111# hang power cleans, chest-to-ring pullups)

  7. OHS: 84# (PR +12 🙂 )
    WOD: 71 (60#, BBPUs)

  8. OHS: 225# (pr +25)
    WOD: 100 reps rx

  9. Did not go for PR on OHS, shoulders still not right from snatches, and everything else the past two weeks! But did 145# A2A

    WOD: 100 reps – 1 more than during the Open last year, and one more than Landon!

    WoD: 76 reps, max unbroken pullups followed by false-grip ring rows, can’t really compare to 1/29.

  18. 186# OHS, first time maxing out
    WOD: 48 reps @ 89#, c2b, pullups = goat

  19. WOD: 75 (subbed 77# HPC for thrusters, hip still hurts). No OHS max.

  20. At home

    Ran 30 second max effort sprints, 1:30 rest. 5 sets.

    1 dead hang pull-up, 1 push-up; 2,2; 3,3….
    Up to 9 minutes

  22. Made this up on Saturday.
    No OHS
    WOD: 72 (65# thrusters, rbpu)

    128 rx (14 better than last year).. annndd we’re done with the open!

  25. OHS on 4/29: 165# (just couldn’t commit to jerking 170# overhead from behind the neck)

    12.5/11.6 (done the day it was announced): 77 rx
    (huge improvement from last year, when my c2b pus were super iffy. Not at all the case this year [yayyy]. Went slow on the thrusters so I wouldn’t die from lactic fluid build-up.)
